Surface Originals is a two-part content series that discusses design and how technology innovation has shaped the creation process. We developed this campaign to showcase Surface in a new way, by tapping into a niche, but burgeoning audience: sneaker enthusiasts. Through the common thread of design, we were able to create a web series that shined a spotlight on sneaker culture, while introducing new audiences to Surface in an authentic way.

TAPPING INTO SNEAKERS
Hosted by sneaker authority and long-time Surface advocate Jacques Slade, the series kicked off with Episode 1, which featured sneaker designer Nicolle Knight and D’Wayne Edwards, founder of Pensole, discussing the art of design and the future of custom sneakers. We continued this discussion in Episode 2 with sneaker designer Connor Seltz and Microsoft’s resident sneakerhead, Panos Panay, where the conversation dove deeper into the ethos of sneaker design.
